We map the world’s business networks.

Beginning with China. The risk intelligence platform for uncovering hidden ownership, supply chains, and corporate connections.
About Us

Our Story

The most important facts about companies are rarely secret. They are simply impossible to assemble.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation into the hidden wealth of China’s then-premier revealed something much larger than one story. The information wasn’t classified. It was hiding in plain sight — buried across thousands of pages of corporate records, filings, and disclosures that no one had ever assembled.

That’s why we founded WireScreen.

We built a platform that transforms millions of business registrations, ownership records, procurement notices, patents, court filings, regulatory disclosures, and other primary sources into a living map of global corporate power. What once took months of investigation can now be understood in seconds.

Our Mission

Understanding corporate power shouldn’t be reserved for government agencies, investigative reporters, and the world’s largest institutions. Our mission is to build the first living map of global corporate power.

Backed by leading venture capital firms.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is WireScreen?

WireScreen is a risk intelligence platform. We assemble the primary record on Chinese companies — and increasingly on companies everywhere — and resolve it into a clear picture of who owns an entity, who controls it, and what risk it carries. The sources are public. Assembling them is the work.

Who do you serve?

We serve national security professionals in major federal agencies but also defense contractors screening sub-tier supply chains; and global enterprises enforcing export controls, sanctions, and investment compliance. What unites them is a consequential decision that hinges on seeing who is really behind an entity, transaction, or investment, through layers of state-backed opacity that standard databases miss.

What problem do you solve?

Our customers are vetting the partners, suppliers, customers and investors on the other side of a decision. They need to know what an entity actually is and what comes with it. Tracing a beneficial owner through layers of holding companies, or surfacing a tie to the military, to sanctions, or to forced labor, becomes a query rather than a research project.

What makes you different?

Most tools were built for transparent, financial use cases. We were built for opaque, adversarial ones. This is a different, and much harder, problem. Our edge is risk that propagates: where a tie to the military, sanctions, or forced labor exists, we follow it through investments, locations, leadership and customers. Raw data is a commodity. The intelligence built on top of it is not.

Why focus on China?

Because it is the hardest case. If you can read deliberate opacity at that scale, in the original language, you can read it anywhere. China is not the ceiling; it is the proving ground. The destination is a map of cross-border corporate power.

Where does the data come from?

The primary record: business registrations, shareholder disclosures, exchange filings, government procurement notices, patents, court filings, regulatory penalties and sanctions actions. These are all collected in the original language. Every connection in WireScreen is traceable to the document it came from, not to a model’s confidence score.

Who is really on the other side of the deal?

Government agencies, leading investors, and the compliance teams behind the world’s most consequential decisions use WireScreen to answer it.
