WireScreen Appoints Former Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense David F. Helvey to Advisory Board

NEW YORK, NY — July 6, 2026 — WireScreen, the premier China-focused risk intelligence platform, today announced the appointment of David F. Helvey to its Advisory Board.

Helvey brings more than 27 years of leadership experience at the U.S. Department of Defense, where he helped shape defense policy across the Indo-Pacific and Europe. Most recently, he served as the Secretary of Defense's Deputy Representative in Europe and Deputy Defense Advisor to the U.S. Mission to NATO. Before that, he was Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs and Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs.

Throughout his career, Helvey held several senior positions focused on China and East Asia, including Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for East Asia, Country Director for China, Director for China, Taiwan, and Mongolia, Senior Advisor for China Policy and Integration, and Principal Director for East Asia. He also served as a Visiting Distinguished Research Fellow at the National Defense University's Center for the Study of Chinese Military Affairs.

Nitze Award for Excellence in International Security Affairs, the Director of National Intelligence Award for Collaboration Leadership, and the Defense Intelligence Agency Director's Award for Meritorious Civilian Service.
